Stella's Brave Day

Stella waits for surgery in the waiting room.
 Vitals look good.
 Changing into cute hospital jammies.
 Bring it on.
 All ready!
Fast asleep even before the anesthesiologists take her.
 After surgery.

 Glad to be held.

Pioneer Day Parade

As summers go, we've been very busy. This last weekend we were campaigning for Austin. He is running for Fairview City Council. We threw boxes of Snaps in the parade, so I'm pretty sure he'll win, especially if the crowds of children begging for Snaps and candy are voting.

Stella and Stuff

Okay, so can it be spring yet? Oh I forgot, in Fairview, that means June. Well Austin is busy with work, church ball, handyman stuff, and his new calling in the Elders Quorum. I am busy with meals, taking care of the house, Stella, trying to get back in shape, and now planning girls camp (for the 3rd year now). Wow, I guess we are living the Mormon dream. We can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so we can go hiking, fishing, and golfing.

Speaking of Stella, she cracks us up. Lately she's been smiling more and I swear she yells at us, because sometimes it's not really a cry, it sounds like she's chewing us out. She's pretty entertaining. It's fun to have a little buddy to hang out with all day.

I can't wait for April! That is when we are free to go out in public without fear of getting RSV. March has lasted a lifetime. I'm never having a baby in the winter again. Cabin fever!

1 Month

We all survived each other for 1 month. Stella is chunking up, and we are starting to get back into a normal routine again (just with less sleep). Lately we've been missing our family and friends a lot. We love Fairview, but it's hard living so far away from everybody. We hope everyone is doing well and handling this crazy life we all live. Enjoy the pictures!

Blog Exclusive -- The Ears

I know a lot of people have been curious about Stella's funky ears. So here are some pictures. Nothing a little nip and tuck can't fix.

Stella Belcher - Born February 1st 2011

Yay! After nearly a 12 hour labor, a wonderful blessing from above known as an epidural, and just a few pushes, Stella made it safe and sound. Everyone loves to know the stats so here they are: 7 pounds, 3 ounces. 19 inches long. Dark hair, Born at 9:13 am. Delivered by a sub of a sub of my doctor.

Of course we think Stella is just perfect, but she came with some quarks. Her ears were formed kind of funky on the outside. She has some "skin tags" and extra lobe stuff. We call her right ear Shrek Ear (which you can see in the first picture), and the left one Cauliflower. The pediatrician wanted to be extra thorough to make sure this wasn't an indication of anything else, but she passed her hearing test and the ultra sound they did of her kidneys and bladder was completely normal. Whew! We'll have a pediatric plastic surgan look at her in a few weeks and have things fixed sometime down the road. She has been a great eater, pooper, sleeper and entertainer. We love her and we'll keep her!
Classic after delivery shot.
Proud parents -- wait what? We're parent's?!! Holy crap.

We tried to bring her home in this bear suit, but she wasn't having it.
It totally drowns her.
